About

Bioecological model is a theoretical framework in human development that posits development is a complex process arising from the continuous, mutual interaction between an active, evolving individual and the changing properties of the environments in which the individual lives. It investigates how genetic and biological factors, individual characteristics, and a nested system of environmental contexts (microsystem, mesosystem, exosystem, macrosystem, and chronosystem) jointly influence development across the lifespan. This model is significant for providing a comprehensive, dynamic perspective that emphasizes the interconnectedness of person and environment and the importance of time and change in shaping developmental trajectories.
